Norwich Gaming Festival Planning

Having been accepted for the Norwich Gaming Festival, I thought that it was time to start planning for the festival, so we are fully organised for the Monday 29th.

Preparing for the Festival

  • What do we need to bring?
  • Where is it?
  • When will we be going?
  • How will we get there?
  • What requirements are there for the exhibition?
  • Timings – When can we set up,? How long? When does it start/ finish?
  • Marketing?

Where is it?

When will we be going?

  • Sunday evening
  • Stay overnight – Find hotel in Norwich
  • Set up in the morning

Wait for Adam to get the

What do we need to bring?

  • We will be sent a form with all the requirements, eg space and times
  • However as we haven’t got that yet, I thought it would be a good idea to go back and look at previous Norwich gaming festivals and try to work out the set up that other stalls have from the shows. Therefore giving us a rough guide of what size space we need, size of TV and what marketing material we should have.

Discussion with Adam

Previously, Adam had suggested we take the large screen in the studio to Norwich, as it would be at eye-line when standing up and it is a large screen to easily see all the action. Though upon looking over the imagery of the previous festivals, we realised that we will probably be getting about half a table per game and so the large TV would far too big, and a smaller screen would be more suitable.

Adam suggested we use the screen in his office which will be a more sensible size. However it won’t be at eye level so we would need some sort of box to place the tv on to raise it here to eye level.

  • Box needs to be made!

However, I still haven’t received the specifications from Norwich, so this is all still to be confirmed depending upon what we find out.

How will we be getting there?

  • Adam will be driving us

What requirements are there for the exhibition?

  • To be confirmed once requirements come in.

Timings – When can we set up,? How long? When does it start/ finish?

  • To be confirmed once requirements come in.

Marketing?

  • T-shirts – teespring
  • Fabric Cloth – Uni – 140cm spec
  • Pop up banner – Uni – 60cm x 200cm

Above are the extra marketing pieces that we decided upon having.

T – shirts – To ensure as a team we stand out and people know who to talk to

Fabric Cloth – This will have our logo on and go over the box we but the screen on. To cover the lower quality of the box to ensure our space looks presentable and professional.

Pop up banner – To make it clear the name of our game and where it is in the exhibition. Draw people into the game by the giant art work.
